It's rather sad that so little has seemed to really be experimented with or at least shared within the virtual community regarding this issue, so hopefully, some of these will help others such as myself who are also looking for some input, and maybe even chime in this thread from time to time with their results. Scouring the web has brought me little to no ideas concerning the Second Life viewers within Linux, unfortunately. I DO still suffer from poor frame rates a bit, but this computer has always had that problem with Second Life even when it had Windows running on it previously. All of this has seemed to work better than anything else. I also made sure to disable any of the calls within the Firestorm config file for optional OpenGL drivers.
